Border Sessions 2014 - Thu, 13 Nov 2014

Do big multinationals and governments profit more from our technology than we do ourselves? Can we keep up with the incredible pace with which these technologies develop?
With a Google Glass on our nose, a smartphone in our pocket and a laptop in our backpack, technology is everywhere. Besides the obvious benefits these connected devices have, there are hidden downsides as well. Do big multinationals and governments profit more from our technology than we do ourselves? Can we keep up with the incredible pace with which these technologies develop?

In a unique Tegenlicht session, Yuri van Geest (tech optimist and founder of Singularity University NL) will discuss these questions with philosopher and tech critic Hans Schnitzler. Responding to short fragments of VPRO Tegenlicht (VPRO Backlight), Van Geest and Schnitzler will investigate the unlimited possibilities and possible limits of technological development.
