Linda Kool
Linda Kool is senior researcher at the Rathenau Instituut. She manages research projects focusing on social and ethical implications of (emerging) ICT. She has conducted several international and national projects related to privacy and data protection for the European Commission, the European Parliament and Dutch Ministries. She holds a MA in ‘Society, Science and Technology Studies' (University of Maastricht/Oslo) and a Msc in Social Science Informatics (University of Amsterdam).

The Rathenau Institute will present its new report on coaching apps at the Border Sessions festival.

Apps measure our behaviour, emotions, activity and bodily functions. Smart software analyses the data and is able to discover patterns we cannot see ourselves, acting like a sixth sense and supporting a range of everyday choices. Very convenient, but can we also trust them? What do the apps base their advice on? Is a coaching app subject to an oath of professional confidentiality?
