Alexander Murer is the founder of Open Biolab Graz-Austria and Briefcase
Biotec. His attendance at student protests in 2009, where he adopted
ideas of a more self reliant, open & free education, ultimately led
him to independently work on biotechnology related projects and to found
his start-up company Briefcase Biotec. Later on he founded the
biohackerspace in Austria, Open Biolab Graz Austria, which is now the
first biohackerspace in Europe to hold a GMO license. His recent project
Kilobaser is a cartridge driven, rapid DNA prototyping machine.
