Nathaniel Rich mag dan jong zijn, zijn oeuvre is al rijk en divers. De roman The Mayor’s Tongue, het non-fictie boek San Fransisco Noir en verschillende essays en kritieken voor grote Amerikaanse bladen staan al op zijn naam.
Dit jaar verscheen Kleine kans op morgen (Odds Against Tomorrow) een boek over Mitchell Zukor, ’s werelds beste ‘worst-case-scenario voorspeller’. Mitchell verdient zijn geld door rampen te voorspellen en bedrijven bij te staan in hun rechtszaken, aangespannen door slachtoffers jegens nalatigheid. De door en door zorgelijke Mitchell maakt ‘gelukkig’ zelf ook een echte ramp mee. Orkaan Tammy komt, overspoelt Manhattan en ontdooit Mitchell.
