Reg Orton is CTO of BRCK Inc. From New Zealand but now based in Nairobi, Kenya. Orton has worked his way across the globe over the last ten years designing high tech solutions for a range of problems, ranging from single photon counting microscopes to field ready emergency medicine tools. He now designs for some of the most difficult environments on the planet.

The internet of things is a growing reality in the west, automating the most mundane tasks and providing information about our least necessities. However in Africa this serves a different need. Culture and environment often form barriers to gathering important data that can improve the lives of people; especially the most vulnerable in society.
