The Sahara Forest Project
The Sahara Forest Project combines already existing and proven environmental technologies, including saltwater-cooled greenhouses, concentrated solar power and technologies for desert revegetation around a saltwater infrastructure. The synergies arising from integrating the technologies improve the performance and economics of the system compared to those of the individual components. With world leading competence in fields ranging from natural and social sciences to business, engineering and architecture, the Sahara Forest Project has a proven track record of creating groundbreaking ideas and turning them into reality on the ground. The first facility is already operational in Qatar.
