Het doet denken aan old-school soul, maar het rockt ook; het is bluesy, jazzy en funky… het is Mamas Gun! De individuele bandleden hebben eerder samengewerkt met mensen als Corinne Bailey Rae, Pharrell Williams en Rod ‘ Thriller’ Temperton. Over Routes To Riches, hun debuutalbum, zegt frontman Andy Platts: ‘Hopefully when you listen to the album, it’s a kaleidoscope of a record that travels through genres and isn’t tied down by anything. It’s just about good songs and a bunch of guys enjoying themselves playing it. (…) It’s not trying to be anything, it just is.’
