The idea for Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) was conceived to make
knowledge accessible to as broad an audience as possible, and thereby to
spur democratisation of education with technology. In The Netherlands,
the Universiteit Leiden is a frontrunner when it comes to MOOCs. In
collaboration with Coursera, its Centre for Terrorism and
Counterterrorism (CTC) offers a dynamic Open Online Course aimed at
sparking polyphonous debate.
