Emotionally intelligent caredroids that act morally good
When healthcare robots interact with patients, we need to
ensure that these machines take into account their emotions and behave
in an ethically sound way. At Border Sessions, Matthijs Pontier will
introduce us to Alice, an emotionally intelligent ‘caredroid’ that can
make ethical decisions. She can find the balance between several moral
principles and trade negative autonomy for positive autonomy. This is
useful in many applications, for example when robots need to find a
balance between nagging and stimulating a patient to make a healthier
choice.
